SBCC Code of Conduct

New in 2022 is our Code of Conduct. We wanted readers and members alike to have confidence in our members - in how they will conduct their business, and themselves, in our community. We ask new and returning members to adopt this code of conduct.

SBCC Member Code of Conduct

As a member/individual of the Spencerville Business Community Connection SBCC I/we recognize that membership is a privilege and that a membership brings with it the responsibility to assure that all members also understand and commit to the following conduct.
  1. Maintain the highest standards of conduct and act with integrity and dignity when interacting with partners, the public and the like;
  2. Play a role in the promotion, development and enhancement of growth and activities in the SBCC area.
  3. Whenever reasonably possible, participate in events and activities of the SBCC.
  4. Abide by the constitution and by-laws of the SBCC as detailed on the SBCC website.
  5. Understand, support and promote the SBCC along with its mission and objectives to the business and residential community.
  6. Respect the good reputation, profile and status of the SBCC and represent it accordingly; conducting all business and professional activities in a reputable manner.
  7. Provide honest, skilled and conscientious service to customers.
  8. Present an accurate presentation in all print and media advertising.
  9. Conform to all laws established by municipal, provincial and federal governments for the conduct of business.
  10. Promote a safe working environment, free from harassment, abuse or discrimination.
  11. SBCC is fully committed to tolerance, diversity, and respect for difference, when dealing with others.

I/We observe the spirit of the Code in all dealings and will conduct ourselves in accordance with the SBCC by-laws.

I/We also understand that failure to comply with the professional and personal obligations for the SBCC as outlined above can result in a penalty or termination of SBCC.
